Atmosfera vivace

Mia Francesca features the zesty, earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria, and Lazio. It was one of the first restaurants in Chicago to encourage the lively art of dining with a contemporary, casually sophisticated trattoria ambiance, simple, rustic cooking, friendly service, and fair prices.

Waiting for a table at the beautiful antique bar is part of the charm of Mia Francesca. The plush upstairs dining room and lounge can be reserved for private events, as can the more intimate coach house tucked away behind the restaurant. In the summer, al fresco dining is also available on a charming cobblestone terrace.

We enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving dinner. The food was all delicious.We ordered from both the regular and special Thanksgiving menu. Our food took longer than expected due to an unexpected glitch, but our server, Audrey, and the management took very good care of us. We had so much fun enjoying the lively atmosphere. I can't wait to return. Thanks for being open on a holidsy.

Mia Francesca’s was my spot for a few years, back in the mid 90’s when I lived in Wrigleyville until life took me to Colorado. Came in from Denver, CO & normally just stay with family in the south suburbs. This year we decided to stay a night in Chicago so I wanted my wife, son & daughter to experience & taste the BEST ITALIAN food in Chicago for their 1st time. Italian food in Colorado as well as pizza is well below mediocre. Our pasta dishes were amazing. Served hot. Had calamari for an app with 2 salads. Salad portions were perfect to share. Bread/oil was fresh and a perfect size. Pasta dishes were plentiful & if we hadn’t not eaten all day, we probably would have needed to-go boxes but we finished every last bite and then some. SHOUT OUT TO CHARLOTTE, although a packers fan (haha) for the exceptional service and going above and beyond making our experience UN-FORGETTABLE. Super attentive, personable, professional, sweet, fun & friendly. THANK YOU!!! My family couldn’t stop talking about how great the food, staff & restaurant was.

We were seated upon arrival. We had some drinks and dinner, both were great. Overall, great food and the waiter was excellent.

We were on a date and we were sat on an 8-person table. That’s a miss in hospitality when there was a smaller table available. Service was okay. The bussers there are on it though, they were awesome and attentive. Food is great as well. Really just hospitality lacked and different experience upstairs versus downstairs.

The service started out strong, then petered out. Our meal, however, was quite good, and we would most likely return.

Best meal we have had in ages. The cod was done perfectly and the broth it was served in was slurp-worthy. (Actually, we asked for a spoon to enjoy every drop.) In addition, the 3-appetizer special was flavorfully delicious.
