Monte's Trattoria is an Italian Restaurant located in the heart of Greenwich Village on MacDougal Street between West 3rd and Bleecker. This vintage Italian restaurant has existed since 1918 and the Mosconi family has continued its rich tradition. Chef Pietro Mosconi delivers authentic Northern Italian dishes from his region of Emilia-Romagna and is often seen in the dining room conversing with patrons.
You'll find a friendly cozy atmosphere. The waiters and bartenders, whom you'll know by name, are always affable and ready to please. Dine as a couple for a romantic dinner, a small private party or as a large group while you take in the sites, sounds and tastes of Greenwich Village. Bel locale nel centro di Greenwich Village. Titolare molto gentile e disponibile, parla italiano. Consigliato!

If I tell how fabulous the food is, it will just make it harder for me to get in next time. So why would I tell anyone that they make the best baked clams in the city? Or the veal chop smothered in peppers is to die for the fact I have been coming here for over thirty years and the quality hasn’t changed shouldn’t influence anyone to go to Montes so do me a favor and go somewhere else

Food was generally very good, except for the house salad, which consisted of 95% romaine lettuce and a few bits of carrot and tomato. The baby artichoke appetizer and the veal chop Milanese were excellent, as were the pasta dishes. Service was a bit slow on a busy Saturday night, when every table on both levels were taken. Noise level upstairs was good.

Excellent service by the female server! Food was very tasty. We had pastina broth soup, baked clams, straw and hay pasta and fettuccine bolognese. Pastas were made in house and were very flavorful as was both the soup and clams! Service very attentive! Very reasonably priced! There’s a reason that it has been around 100 years.

Tony is the best. We had to get to the comedy cellar afterwards and he delivered everything perfectly on time but on top of that was hilarious and fun. Food is also very good, especially the Caesar salad
