Excellent friendly service and delicious food. Monty's caters easily for vegans,one of whom we had in our party. Very good restaurant choice in Southsea.

We booked via Open Table on the day (for that evening) and received the confirmation e-mail. Unfortunately when we arrived we were told there was no booking for us as when booking via Open Table, the bookings do not come through /checked by restaurant until the following day,! So others beware ! We waited at the bar as they said a table would not be long-it was in the end about 40 mins. Food was quite tasty, no bread with starter of smoked salmon available as run out.

Celebrated birthdays with friends at Monty's Wine Bar and restaurant for their Sunday lunch. Once again 'they did it' and served the tastiest lunch. Service is fabulous and employees extremely attentive without being intruding and nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Portsmouth area. A 15min walk or 5 min taxi ride from Portsmouth station but definitely worth travelling. The décor is lovely and they have a wonderful bar on entry and a formal laid dining room at the rear that whilst looks formal is extremely welcoming and relaxing. If I had a Monty's in London I would be a regular diner.

Given as a gift afternoon tea for two. Lovely premises with comfortable chairs and a fabulous host for whom nothing was too much trouble. We were never rushed or fussed over so it was extreamly relaxing experience. Only one very small criticsm - the tea pot was too small so had to ask several times for a refill (which was refilled very promptly😀). Overall would recommend and will return myself.

I had a voucher for my birthdays for Afternoon tea for four. Great service and we were provided with extra sandwiches when we ran out. Our teapots were also refilled constantly.

Mixed feelings. Some things were good. Service was slow and room was mostly empty of staff for the first hour, and then it was all a bit hit and miss. Some of the food was good but not a place to go back to. Regulars seem to be happy and also get special treatment. A bit disappointing given some of the great reviews. Maybe it was an off night.

Lovely experience and excellent food. A fantastic place to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary but will visit again soon.

I was really looking forward to going to Montys and was really disappointed .. the quality of food was not to a high standard considering the price .. my partners mash was freezing cold when it came out we complained and they brang another portion out which was piping hot too straight from microwave .. apology was given but nothing else's won't be returning
