Monty’s Steakhouse has been proudly family-owned and operated for over 80 years by three
generations of the Levine family.
Monty Levine’s start as a restauranteur came in 1940, while he was working for a wholesale beverage
distributor. When one of the customers on his route—who owned a small bar and burger joint on the
corner of Fair Oaks and California Boulevard, Pasadena—fell severely ill, Monty extended him personal
credit until he recovered. Touched by the generosity of this gesture, the customer offered Monty his
burger bar in settlement of his debts…and the original Monty’s was born.

Always excellent and great value especially when sharing chops were perfect and chopped salad always tasty. Excellent inviting service.

We paid $164 that did not include food or drinks. False advertising on Monty’s part. When we booked it said food and drinks included. I spoke to the manager and he was of no help

I’ve been eating at Monty’s for over 40 years and have always had a very good dinner. Unfortunately, the past New Years Eve dinner was atrocious. I ordered a rack of lamb cooked medium. Medium rare was said to be too rare for what wanted and the waiter recommended medium. This is usually right. It still cones pink in the center. Well the rack came looking almost steamed, no crust on top and a milky brown COVERED IN GARLIC I did take a bite and could not eat another. . Really disgusting. I’m surprised it was even served to me. The vegetables were more than el dente, they were raw. I did get a replacement, I ordered a petite filet which was fine but my appetite was ruined. The waiter was fine and very apologetic and got a replacement as soon as possible. The busboy who brought out my mashed potatoes and steak in a take home box just tossed it. Really rude. Anyway. Not a pleasant experience.

Wanted to spend Christmas dinner at Monty's since my husband and I haven't been there in years. Not disappointed at all. Everything was lovely for my family of four. Thank you for making our Christmas dinner perfect.

Monty's Steak House in Woodland Hills is our go to restaurant for special celebrations and just when we feel like having an absolutely delicious dinner. We have been faithful customers since 1973 and it is always consistent with quality, variety and great service. We have our favorites - Caesar salad ( one salad for two people is very generous), shrimp cocktail (the largest shrimp I have seen), lobster tails, steak, salmon, parmesan cheese toast, baked potato (huge), We haven't tasted everything on the menu, but there are so many wonderful dishes to order in the future. They also offer specials that aren't on the menu. Somehow we love our favorites. If we have room we share Madonna's chocolate cake for dessert or a sundae. We highly recommend Monty's!

Monty’s has been our go-to steakhouse for at least 35 years. Wonderful food and service. The best shrimp cocktail anywhere, and always a fun evening out!
