   We love Motcombs, we celebrated our wedding lunch here 10years ago! The place is lovely, the food is delicious and its location is really nice.We spent a perfect dinner. We could not desire anything better. Just 2 objections: 1) when we arrived was like they did not know about our reservation 2) they did not apply the 50% off steaks on friday. By the way we had a really special and pleasant night

   Had not visited Motcombs for quite some time. The good news is that little had changed! A varied menu, well priced wines, well presented, tasty food, good waiter service and - in the bar, the downstairs restaurant being closed on a quiet Monday night - a convivial atmosphere. The tables were too near each other. However, this is close to being a neighbourhood gem.

   As always a good fun time was had. Food very good and staff attentive and amusing. A great place to be!

   Don't understand why this place isn't more popular. Next time would go for Sunday lunch which seems very good value.

   When we arrived we confirmed out booking and were directed to the basement . My wife very politely asked if we could sit at a ground floor table . She was told " No you have to go downstairs " the manner of delivery and the arrogance took us by surprise , however, we ventured downstairs to an empty , oppressive space and the combination of the space and another unwelcoming member of staff we both decided in union not to stay . We live locally and would have been happy to make this local restaurant a weekly choice but given our experience we are more than happy to cross this restaurant off of our options . I wish I had read the reviews before booking as our experience is a common theme in numerous reviews .

   We actually ate in the Brasserie at street level, but it was great. Cozy and delicious.

    We had a fairly nice evening but the restaurant could really do with modernising. The interior seemed a little outdated and "dusty". The food was ok but nothing to go back for. But the worst thing of the night was, that we saw a mouse running through the restaurant and into the kitchen. When we told the waiter he merely said that he will tell management. We will definitely not go back!
