                                                                                                      I recently ate at Mystic Steakhouse. The quality, preparation and flavor of the food did not match the prices. However, the staff was very nice and accommodating, especially our waiter Cody. The Beef, Bone and Brioche appetizer of "red wine braised beef, house-made brioche, bone marrow" was a brioche bun garnished with two slivers of marrow bone and a smattering of dry beef; not a hint of juice, red wine, any type of liquid. The garnish itself was the appetizer. The French onion soup was also low on liquid. It was simply a large bowl of onions covered in cheese. We had to ask for more broth to be added, a request no one at the table has ever made, but the soup itself was fine. The steak tartare was unremarkable and the Caesar salads were barely dressed. Good oysters but with a lot of shell. Queen cut of prime rib was cooked as ordered. The star of the whole meal was the side of mashed potatoes. Very buttery. We did not have dessert. Not the worst meal but was hoping for a better experience.

                                                                                                      We have dined there many times and always have great food, service and cocktails. The shrimp was outstanding and my husband’s ribeye perfectly cooked to medium rare. A must find you are near Mystic Lake.

                                                                                                      I had made a reservation in advance and requested to be seated in a certain area. When we arrived we were told that area was not available. I then asked to be seated in an open booth and was told that was reserved. We had our meal and left and still there was no one seated in that booth! We both felt that our salads were short on the salad dressing so a little dry. My husband requested his steak be cooked medium and he felt it was more rare than medium. A couple of large groups so a bit noisy this time but normally a quiet place to dine. Other than that the food and service were good.
