Blacklock is a modern take of the Great British chophouse nestled in the corner of a Grade II listed textiles warehouse. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails from the trolley and wine on tap in our subterranean chop mecca. On Sundays we serve a Roast almost as good as Mum's. We have limited spaces for Walk-ins, so we encourage booking in advance to avoid disappointment during busy times. The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. To the rear of the building in our historic Cobbled Garden you will find our own brewery housed in the stables which were used for the horses and stage coaches as they passed through the village. From Ales to YPA’s, to Blonde beers we are a small producer using primary English hops brewing exclusively in house for The Hop Vine and our sister pub the Legh Arms.Our countryside sister the Legh Arms is our latest addition to the family and is situated in the pretty hamlet of Mere Brow. Here we serve our trademark delicious home produced quality food and excellent home brewed ales.     The food was outstanding. All meals were delicious and well presented. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. I have been a few times now and will definitely return. Loved the Christmas decorations too. Very festive

    It was 8pm on a Sturday evening, it was raceday ay Haydock Park and the front of the pub was bouyant. We were sat in the dining room which was warm and friendly we could hear the DJ but easily speak to each other. The food was very good, and served by an excellent polite and friendly Waitress. One of us had steak for mains medium rare and it was, the other pork belly mash on greens which was very good. Staff gave us just the right amount of attention. And were nice and prompt with drinks for us In all a great start to a Saturday evening, Thanks team Pied Bull xx

    Honestly the most amazing food i’ve ever had, the service was so speedy and welcoming!! the atmosphere was great and god don’t get me started on the focaccia, it was DIVINE!! This was the best restaurant i’ve been to in Manchester 100%
