What can I say? First of all, it would be helpful for Nobu to accurately explain how difficult it is to reach the restaurant at this time. Nowhere on the website or even on Google maps was it made clear that highway 1 was closed. We were coming in from Santa Monica, just to enjoy Nobu. We had a 430 reservation and when we realized it would take at least 1.5 hours to reach the restaurant, we called to discuss this with the restaurant and the hostess was unsympathetic and would not allow us to discuss with a manager. We were coming in for an early dinner specifically because we were coming with young children. The cancellation policy was a $200 no show policy. We were forced to either do the drive or lose the money. We did the drive in awful traffic and through the mountains. What should have taken 30-40 mins took THREE HOURS, and resulted in our young son being car sick in the mountains of Malibu. The food was great, the service was fine, but wow. The restaurant policy is unbelievably greedy and self serving. The restaurant should be advertising on the website that the main road to get to the restaurant is closed for clients who are unfamiliar with the area and traveling from out of state. We have previously enjoyed Nobu in NYC, Aspen and other locations. We will never return to another Nobu in the future. Disgusting, greedy and unsympathetic policies resulted in an awful night for my family.

We've been here a few times and the service is usually very good, but last night it was lacking. We had to ask for ginger and wasabi a few times before they finally brought it. And our server did not check on us often enough. We had to flag them down if we wanted something. I also don't like that they try to take your menus all the time, especially the drink menu. If you don't have enough menus to at least leave one, get more menus. The music was also a little loud inside the restaurant and it was a little chilly inside.
