We had a friends dinner with 6 of us last night at North Star American Bistro, and it was lovely. The service was prompt, friendly and attentive but not hovering. All six of us enjoyed our meals. They were delicious and beautifully presented. I gave them 1 less star on value, because it was a little expensive, but all restaurants are now days. And it was a full house, so it was a little loud, but still possible to carry on a nice conversation without shouting. All in all a good experience, and we will go again.

We had a wonderful meal but our first table in the bar, which was by the glass doors in the bar, was very cold and each time the door opens, you receive a blast of cold air, and it’s only November. Once we moved to another table in the bar, it was better, but the high tops on that end get the blast of air.

As usual the high quality of the food contributed to the delicious taste. The cod fish fry was not at all greasey! The potato pancakes were very good. The bourbon salmon was excellent!

We had dinner early on a Wednesday night. We are a more particular client as both worked in restaurant business as waitress trainer and Head Chef As was early in evening diners were light about 6 tables, 1 bar table, Drinks took longer than should have aprox. 7 to 10 mins Salad was small for a $6 charge and tomatoes and cucumbers were slightly slimy, Ranch dressing was good and not commissary. French Onion was good but had no depth of flavor.Request for additional bread when soup and salad came took far too long, Finished soup and salad before it came out and would have like to dip in soup, (did not rush eating) Food came in a timely manor Waitress was accommodating and substituted pasta for potatoes. Short rib was very good but smaller portion. Dish of the night was cooked properly scallops were not overcooked but again lacked depth of flavor to dish. Overall it was a satisfactory meal but nothing that when you took a bite you thought OMG is that good Waitress did not come back to check on how our food was

Arrived at a quiet time. Restaurant was mostly empty. The server was attentive and even had our meal split between two plays as we were sharing lunch. Good apple cobbler for dessert.
