After a two-year closure, Original Joe's, San Francisco’s quintessential Italian-American dining destination, revitalized iconic Daly City institution Joe’s of Westlake, and reintroduced it into the community as Original Joe’s Westlake. An anchor of Daly City from 1956 to 2014, Original Joe’s Westlake underwent an extensive two-year renovation, complete with a front-to-back interior remodel, including the kitchen and all dining spaces, and an exterior and landscaping overhaul. Following the Original Joe’s tradition, Westlake continues to prepare unpretentious, old-school Italian-American fare in an open kitchen for all to see. The menu is carefully crafted to reflect a past-meets-present hybrid of what Joe’s of Westlake used to be and what Original Joe’s Westlake is today.

Evoking the spirit of the original Joe’s of Westlake, the newly renovated restaurant transports guests to Westlake circa 1960. Boasting Sputnik lighting, terrazzo flooring and redwood accents throughout, Original Joe’s Westlake elicits mid-century America in the likes of Palm Springs, Beverly Hills and Las Vegas. The newly reimagined Cascade Room features show-stopping pimento orange banquettes, and offers a variety of options for large gatherings—from private rehearsal dinners and memorial receptions, to smaller non-private family dinners, class reunions and birthday celebrations. With beautiful custom sliding doors, the Cascade Room can be divided in half, creating two fully private event spaces, accommodating up to 50 guests each.

This is by far my favorite restaurant in the Bay Area. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming and we always leave extremely satisfied. This is my family’s go to stop for special celebrations!

We were seated in the garden room, the noise level was amazing, not too loud to and not too quiet. Service was excellent while we were there for 3 hours enjoying our food and beverages celebrating my 21st birthday. My family use to always come here before renovation with my grandparents and their families. Food was steaming hot getting served. Going to be coming back a lot!! Great server, we had the most fabulous time.

It was my first time at Joe’s and I think I will be returning for my annual holiday dinner with my best friend. I loved the holiday decorations in the restaurant. The lights and wreaths were a gorgeous touch. The drink I got was amazing, so festive!! I ordered sweater weather! The rib eye was perfectly cooked!! And the butter cake was delicious!!

The holiday experience is in full swing at Joes of Westlake. It’s beautifully decorated. The waiters were bustling around, very busy. We had a 3 pm reservation and they seated us by a lovely open fire pit. The only drawback was that our waiter left and as far as we could tell, a new waiter did not take his place until we called someone over to us to ask about our waiter. We were told he left, and two other waiters came to help us. So it all worked out in the end.

We had a excellent drinks with a good meal and service. The seating was horrible. It was a small 2 top booth right next to the kitchen where to go orders were being put together. It was loud and people walking by were at times in the table space. Not the date night I was imagining.

We had an early holiday dinner with my family. The food was great. The atmosphere and service were excellent from our waiter Ishmeil (sp?) to David, the manager, who helped us with our next reservation (we needed to add one and he accommodated our request). Joe's of W has always been our go.
