After a two-year closure, Original Joe's, San Francisco’s quintessential Italian-American dining destination, revitalized iconic Daly City institution Joe’s of Westlake, and reintroduced it into the community as Original Joe’s Westlake. An anchor of Daly City from 1956 to 2014, Original Joe’s Westlake underwent an extensive two-year renovation, complete with a front-to-back interior remodel, including the kitchen and all dining spaces, and an exterior and landscaping overhaul. Following the Original Joe’s tradition, Westlake continues to prepare unpretentious, old-school Italian-American fare in an open kitchen for all to see. The menu is carefully crafted to reflect a past-meets-present hybrid of what Joe’s of Westlake used to be and what Original Joe’s Westlake is today.

    Evoking the spirit of the original Joe’s of Westlake, the newly renovated restaurant transports guests to Westlake circa 1960. Boasting Sputnik lighting, terrazzo flooring and redwood accents throughout, Original Joe’s Westlake elicits mid-century America in the likes of Palm Springs, Beverly Hills and Las Vegas. The newly reimagined Cascade Room features show-stopping pimento orange banquettes, and offers a variety of options for large gatherings—from private rehearsal dinners and memorial receptions, to smaller non-private family dinners, class reunions and birthday celebrations. With beautiful custom sliding doors, the Cascade Room can be divided in half, creating two fully private event spaces, accommodating up to 50 guests each.

    Wonderful food and staff. But music piped in outrageously loud. Everyone yelling at each other so they can hear each other over music. We were in back room on the John Daly side.

    We had the best server- he was helpful and attentive and professional. Please give him our regards. We always love the ambience !! The food was great - all our choices were Joe’s special!!

    Ordered minestrone soup and it was overly salty. Chairs were uncomfortable. Bad experience.

    There were 5 of us ladies. The room to the right with the fireplace was so noisy that it was difficult to hear our conversation at the table. The tables were all too close to each other. Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Not sure if I would come back soon because the noise level was unacceptable.

    I am a regular at this location and I must say it was not there best night tonight. I first mentioned in open table about celebrating my husband birthday which not sure what happened with that. I then walked back up to the front desk and told the two people at front desk at joes , a man and woman about having a little something for my husband for his birthday and I would pay. I even mentioned the reservations with open table and my request. Still nothing. A third time the waiter came around and we gave our desert orders and I decided to walk up to him and ask about my earlier request to order something special to again celebrate my husband. He looked at me like I was asking for the first time. He later shows up at what felt was his convenience and at that time my daughter walked off to bring a dessert with a candle and lit up and walk away. No birthday or anything. My daughter returned and said oh no did I miss it. I said we did not we did not even get to singing happy birthday. Not the best night. Disappointment for so much money.
