After a two-year closure, Original Joe's, San Francisco’s quintessential Italian-American dining destination, revitalized iconic Daly City institution Joe’s of Westlake, and reintroduced it into the community as Original Joe’s Westlake. An anchor of Daly City from 1956 to 2014, Original Joe’s Westlake underwent an extensive two-year renovation, complete with a front-to-back interior remodel, including the kitchen and all dining spaces, and an exterior and landscaping overhaul. Following the Original Joe’s tradition, Westlake continues to prepare unpretentious, old-school Italian-American fare in an open kitchen for all to see. The menu is carefully crafted to reflect a past-meets-present hybrid of what Joe’s of Westlake used to be and what Original Joe’s Westlake is today.

Evoking the spirit of the original Joe’s of Westlake, the newly renovated restaurant transports guests to Westlake circa 1960. Boasting Sputnik lighting, terrazzo flooring and redwood accents throughout, Original Joe’s Westlake elicits mid-century America in the likes of Palm Springs, Beverly Hills and Las Vegas. The newly reimagined Cascade Room features show-stopping pimento orange banquettes, and offers a variety of options for large gatherings—from private rehearsal dinners and memorial receptions, to smaller non-private family dinners, class reunions and birthday celebrations. With beautiful custom sliding doors, the Cascade Room can be divided in half, creating two fully private event spaces, accommodating up to 50 guests each.

Classic dining in a wonderfully preserved yet tastefully updated historic building. Excellent menu full of classics, perfectly executed. Great service! My only complaint on the house side of the equation would be the music during our recent visit - PLEASE - no LOUD pop music! Not a great experience to have a nice outing at one of our region's few remaining classic dining establishments tainted by the same blaring pop you hear at Lowes or CVS! Certainly not a deal breaker, but please pic a channel on your music service that features loungey classics from the '50s-'60s to accompany your truly great classic fare and service :) Other issue not exclusive to OJ's but common to all of the remaining "nice" restaurants in the Bay is the preponderance of overpaid techie clientele who treat the place as "casual dining" rather than a special occasion establishment. Sweats, shorts, tank tops, sloppy attire and behavior unfortunately abound here now, along with their roaming, loud kids who (like their parents) will never learn "restaurant manners". A mild dress code posted during reservation (maybe no shorts, tanks, sweats, flip-flops?) and a "keep your kids ar heel" policy might help to reign this in and keep the place a bit classier - just a suggestion. Overall, love this place and hope it stays around forever!

One of my favorite restaurants.The food & service has always been great , I never have been disappointed with any of the food there. If you’re want good food this is the place to go.

Been hearing that this is a good option if you are looking for an retro vibe, impeccable service and something like House of Prime Rib. Did not disappoint! Excellent meal and ambiance.

My family and I have always loved the caring staff and the delicious food they serve. We love this place for birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. It’s just an anytime place.

I am so pleased to have our year end team's brunch at Original Joe's. Our server Luis was excellent and took time to listen to our requests and made sure for us to be comfortable. His dynamic personality is highly appreciated. Overall, from the booth they sat us to the food we ordered, we forgot how long we were there not only for some catching. Good company was complemented by good restaurant, excellent food and superb customer service.

Our server was fabulous! Attentive, quick service, friendly. Best service we have received in a very long time at a restaurant. Very refreshing!
