Pappas Steakhouse is what you expect… great steaks, wonderful food and service and elegant atmosphere. It makes your dining experience special. I don’t normally write reviews of restaurants because there are a few that I feel live up to the expectation, but Pappa’s Steakhouse is one of those rare examples. We love the downtown location and special feel. My only criticism was that they sat us in the room with the wine inventory and only six tables and they sat us next to the door, even though the room was completely empty. We did ask to be moved to another table which they accommodated, but why is it when you go to a restaurant with a reservation so often that seems to happen? It was resolved and we had a lovely meal and we’ll be back again.

The food was great! However, the service was not as good as it has been in the past. We had to flag down the waiter several times, drinks came out wrong, we were still eating the bread, but they took it away, they kept interrupting conversations to remove things from the table. We have been there several times and have had better service in the past.

Food was excellent! However, I think we chose the wrong day to go. We had a 7:15 reservation. We were finally seated 25 minutes later, and it was a very undesirable table inside the private dining area with absolutely no view of anything except a wall for one person and the lobster tank for the other person.

Best steaks in Houston. The scallops with wrapped bacon were so delicious. Attentive service. Will definitely come back to visit soon.

Great food and service. Steaks were cooked to perfection and with a huge wine list you have many options.

We love classy "old school" steakhouses, and Pappas Bros hits it out of the park with ambiance (not a quiet romantic sort of place, though-quite lively and if you want that, ask to be seated in the back room that has a library feel), and exquisite food served by classy black bow-tied waiters. We were startled when our steak requests got mixed up-had to send my medium rare NY back for a new very rare one, and my husband's back for more cooking. But they comp'd us the fabulous cheesecake dessert for the mix-up and we cannot recommend this place highly enough. Fabulous overall!

The place is very nice, the food was delicious, and the waitress's service was top quality, she made us feel good and comfortable. She was always very attentive and very thoughtful with me and my wife because it was my anniversary.
