Beauty & Essex has an innovative design that starts in the restaurant’s entrance, a well-curated modern-day pawn shop replete with a saxophone, boombox, quirky artifacts, vintage treasures, and an eclectic array of “one-off” pieces of jewelry. Continuing past the pawnshop, guests encounter a grand, circular staircase wrapped around a two-story custom chandelier, but only the adventurous will discover all that Beauty & Essex has to offer. Il ristorante è un tipico ristorante classico americano, elegante, fa cucina italiana adattata ai gusti internazionali ma di buon livello. Buona la pizza, fatta in forno a legna, buoni i cocktail. I prezzi però a mio parere sono esagerati, anche per New York. Sarebbero giustificati se dall’ intera sala si godesse la vista, ma purtroppo non è così, solo i posti fuori o alla finestra hanno un po’ di vista, comunque più sul Manhattan bridge che sul Brooklyn.
