Hook & Ladder is the unexpected steakhouse you’d never thought you’d find in the historic, original firehouse of the Washington Fire Company. This is a one-of-a-kind Skybar experience allowing guests a close view of our 149 year old firehouse, bell tower and original stained glass windows. A unique cross between a chop house and Crudo bar, Hook & Ladder features Certified A5 Japanese wagyu beef that will melt in your month. Dry aged Steak offerings including 32 days dry aged Porterhouse (28oz), 32 days aged Tomahawk Ribeye (40oz) that will taste decidedly beefy, much like a rare roast beef, while also taking on subtler hints of other delicious flavors. Crudo uses the Japanese technique of curing the fish making it more tender and flavorful. Finishing it with lime, lemon, and soy; featuring Wild King Salmon, Japanese Madai, Hamachi and more. The stunning restaurant, which is the first of its kind in Radnor, will transport guests to the Greek Islands with an atmosphere reminiscent of an inviting Mediterranean home, and a menu of authentic specialties, simply prepared, that represent the best of Greek cuisine. The restaurant specializes in whole grilled fish, which are flown in from the Greek islands, the shores of Morocco, Tunisia and Portugal, and procured from independent North American fishermen. We have created a welcoming restaurant designed with the comforts of a typical Greek home. We used materials such as hand-chiseled Jerusalem limestone floors, hand woven rugs, vaulted ceilings, antiqued stucco walls, wood plank floors and exposed wood beams to evoke the traditional atmosphere. Food and service were good. However, I made the reservation with the occasion it was my wife’s birthday. No mention of it. She ordered the fillet but was only given a butter knife to cut it. 😳 a steak knife would have been better.

It was our first time at Hook and Ladder but it won't be our last. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was lovely. We were one of the first tables of the night to be seated and I wasn't thrilled about being placed right across from the restroom but that was the only negative aspect of our evening. The spicy tuna starter was amazing and I had the Chilean Sea Bass signature dish which was out of this world! My husband had a steak and caesar salad both of which he raved about, and we shared the creamed spinach which was also delicious. We were so full that we couldn't even attempt dessert. Definitely a place we will visit again!!
