Zaab Zaab’s co-owners proud natives of Queens, opened their restaurant in the heart of Elmhurst’s Little Thailand in April of 2022 just before Songrkan, or Thai New Year. The destination for authentic Isaan cuisine from Northeastern Thailand has received numerous accolades, including a 3-star review from Pete Wells of The New York Times, and being listed two years in a row on the NYT’s 100 Best Restaurants in NYC as well as being nominated as a semifinalist in the Best Restaurateur category for the 2024 James Beard Foundation Awards. We were sat a few tables from the door and felt a cold draft every time someone walked in. The door would stay open and let a lot of chill in. There’s no entry awning so it felt very cold the whole dinner, and they wouldn’t reseat us.

The best oxtails in town!! Ackee & Saltfish tostones are delicious! Service is mediocre. Ambiance is pleasant with good music but the tables are small. Drinks are ok. Location convenient. This was my 2nd visit snd not my last.

The restaurant, the food, the scenery, the music, the lighting was all 10/10 but the server pulled a move I do not respect to manipulate a tip.
