Inspired by Italy’s aperitivo hour, when public squares and streets are filled with lively conversation, Portico serves handmade and authentic Italian fare in Sebastopol in western Sonoma County.A portico is a colonnade or covered walkway in classical architecture. Since the middle ages the elegant porticos of Bologna, Italy have a meeting place for the public as well as a place for business. Paolo Pedrinazzi (who is from Bologna) and Kat Escamilla, owners of the new Portico trattoria , bring this experience to Sebastopol. They even have monthly Regional dinner parties with live jazz.The setting includes an Italian fountain on their cozy patio. Portico offers light table service and counter ordering. Excellent Italian wines are sold in the restaurant at retail pricing; refreshingly unpretentious. Koshō Restaurant at The Barlow is a modern Japanese and sushi restaurant in Sebastopol with a progressive focus on food, local ingredients, and sustainability. We utilize local purveyors for fresh produce and meats as well as national and international providers for fresh seafood and sushi grade fish. Koshō derives its moniker from the condiment of the same name, Yuzu Koshō. Known for its spicy, acidic and balanced nature, it appears throughout the menu in various forms; including Meyer lemon, grapefruit, and satsuma orange koshō.     The new interior is beautiful and I loved being in a booth. We were expecting more seafood but the tuna Niçoise salad was delicious and my friend said the calamari was okay and her green salad had very plain dressing which is exactly what I liked about my salad. So I would have to say try it for yourself. If you’re in the area it’s worth a try.

    Ever since Dalida opened, Chefs Laura and Sayat have created such amazing menus. Gracious welcoming Staff make us feel at home as we share delicious dishes -interesting blends of flavors not experienced anywhere else. We love introducing our Family and Friends to Dalida whenever we can!
