Meat & Potatoes is a high end gastropub in downtown Pittsburgh. Its kitchen takes as its inspiration the idea of elevating comfort food to a gourmet level. Its chefs are inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients and its bar staff creates innovative cocktails and serves a range of wines by the glass and draught beers, as well. The menu at Meat & Potatoes is a new take on basic. There are classic appetizers like fried pickles, grilled bread and fried Brussels sprouts, as well as more innovative fare like fried pigs ear and buttermilk fried chicken liver. A casual place with good eats. Parking is difficult around here. Only complaint is the kitchen was backed up so it was pretty slow but we didn’t mind.
