The Odeon offers reservations for indoor and outdoor dining for parties up to 6 guests. Walk-Ins are welcome. Due to demand, we are unable to hold your reservation past the time it has been booked. Beauty & Essex has an innovative design that starts in the restaurant’s entrance, a well-curated modern-day pawn shop replete with a saxophone, boom­box, quirky artifacts, vintage treasures, and an eclectic array of “one-off” pieces of jewelry. Continuing past the pawnshop, guests encounter a grand, circular staircase wrapped around a two-story custom chandelier, but only the adventurous will discover all that Beauty & Essex has to offer. With four distinct dining rooms (one private), two bars, a lounge, and a women’s bathroom complete with a salon including a luxurious sofa, and antique perfume bottles. The cuisine, much like the design, is intended to set a new course. Chef Chris Santos was one of the pioneers of the small, share plate dining trend that has swept the nation, and with the Beauty & Essex menu, he once again has created waves on the food scene.

    Amazing food and atmosphere. From the gumbo to the brown butter bourbon bread pudding, we enjoyed every bite! The jazz trio authenticated the experience. Chef Eric brings the flavors and dishes from the Big Easy to NYC. Highly recommend!

    Shan was recommended by a female duo I follow on IG...bklynmavens. The experience surpassed my expectations, every dish was delicious with a bit of spice but not to overwhelm. My dinner companion does not eat meat and our waiter suggested the Dan Dan noodles without pork and it was a home run, she's currently looking up a recipe online to attempt it at home lol. She had the prawn dry pot as well and we both did the happy dance when tasted. I was not disappointed with my duck entree that came with buns, duck was cook to perfection and the sauce was perfect for that meal. We split the coconut cotta dessert, different for us but a welcomed change, tasty yet light. We will definitely return with others to experience Shan. Thank you for the good food and service!

    What a fun place to dine! Food and drinks were delicious and the decor was super fun! Friendly staff! Loved the conveyor belt that brought all the food and drinks and all the other fun sparkly items on the belt too

    Hidden neighborhood gem with great food, excellent drinks, and a unique, comfortable atmosphere. Very happy our original option was no longer available when we went back to secure a reservation!
