The Japanese film Tampopo was marketed as the world’s first “ramen western”. It’s the story of two truck drivers, Goro & Gun, who use their culinary expertise to change the fate of a struggling noodle shop. Those two characters' passion for noodle-making lives on at Calgary’s 150-seat noodle bar — led by executive chefs Ryusuke Araki & Tomo Mitsuno. Located inside Stephen Avenue Place, upstairs on the Plus 15 level, the restaurant melds modern art graphics with distinctive hardwood and right angles of Japanese decor. We love Gringo St! Food is always very taste, drinks are the best the spicy mango margarita is delicious! The service is also great, and the owner is adorable! We always go late and yes there is music, but it is good music and moderate volume that you can still have a conversation! I recommend gringo st and definetely will go back many more times!
