Located right by Clapham Common, Red Vine is a neighbourhood restaurant that celebrates Modern British food with a focus on wine. Only using local ingredients, owner Richard Herbert and Head Chef Julio Amado have created a delicious, seasonal British menu with a Mediterranean twist. Slow-cooked ox cheeks; deep-fried mussels served with aioli; and truffle tortelloni tossed in garlic butter all feature on the beautifully curated menu, which is divided into small plates and large plates. This is food that’s supposed to be lingered over. And with an uncomplicated wine list and creative cocktails, there are plenty of reasons to stay a little longer.The charming restaurant welcomes dogs and is beautifully decorated with colourful walls and original church pews. A conservatory in the back with stained glass windows and an enchanting garden will soon open for al fresco dining. This was the best meal I have eaten for years. The taste of the food was wonderful and faultless and the presentation sheer perfection. By far the best restaurant in the North Surrey/South West London area, probably one of the best restaurants in the entire country. Given the quality of the food it is inexpensive. Go there.

The food was presented beautifully, and the service was great. The flavours and combinations were delicious, some small issues but made the chef aware and they took it on board gracefully. Also, there was no a la carte menu which was a little disappointing as we had planned what we wanted to order, but only a set menu was available on the day. The octopus was deliciously tender and flavoursome! And although the portions looked small, we were so full we didn't make it to dessert. Would expect the surf and turf to be a larger portion for the extra supplement of £15, not much meat, but we were still full at the end of the main course. The staff were very pleasant and friendly and as we were the only ones there we were waited on hand and foot, planning to go back when it is busier for sure. The cocktails were quite yummy and the restaurant is very smart looking, but the toilet area needs work. Thank you to the whole team for being so attentive and welcoming!

Really friendly staff who were attentive throughout our meal. Our food tasted delicious . Only comment is that the plates could have been better presented. There was quite a lot of food on the plate and it lacked a bit of eye appeal. Otherwise a very enjoyable mid week meal!
