Proper 21K, brought to DC from the New York City restaurateurs Rob Zahn and Will Strozier that own Manhattan Proper, and Proper West, opening in August 2020. Located at 2033 K St NW, Proper 21K is a high end sports bar serving All American classics with a gourmet twist. Proper 21K is the second DC location of NIEUW Group INC. Like its predecessors, located in New York City and DC, Proper 21K serves contemporary American cuisine. The space maintains the modern aesthetic and New York style of the Manhattan locations, which have best been described as Tom Ford meets Thomas Edison. The restaurant provides the best audio & visual for sports, corporate functions, nightlife and other events.

Our fine-dining dinner menu reflects the unique spirit and sensibility of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, with both the menu and design drawing inspiration from the surrounding Georgetown neighborhood.CUT restaurant features two stunning bars: one guests will find upon entering CUT, while the other sits atop the hotel on a magnificent deck overlooking the city. Both will serve custom bespoke cocktails, wine, beer, and an extensive food menu. An intimate 14-seat private dining space also will be available for special events, meetings, and celebrations. Due to limited space, any cancellations within 24 hours of the reservation may trigger a $25 per person cancellation fee. From the moment we arrived, during happy hour, the hostess was very friendly and attentive. Our waiter was equally friendly, and described how the citrus slices were dried in an air fryer. The only glitch was that the menu was incorrectly annotated as to which menu items were gluten free. I was not able to have either of my first 2 choices, as they were not truly gluten free, as marked. Unfortunately, I had ordered red wine for the now-forbidden beef. The third choice, the halibut, was fabulous. The manager brought a glass of white wine to compensate. They should fix either the menus or the recipes. Had I known in advance about the lack of gluten free options, I would not have chosen this restaurant. I hope they fix this problem.
