“A stones throw away from Dalston Kingsland Station you will find The Dalston Jazz Bar. It’s a full on restaurant up until 10 PM. They serve an array of fresh seafood as well as yummy beer from a local brewery and cocktails. The live band plays throughout the night with a few breaks. Having spent years supplying London’s top restaurants through their separate wine businesses, Joe Haynes and Benedict Butterworth have joined forces with Tom Hurst, who has worked at Brawn, The Marksman, Levan, and most recently as Head Chef at Lasdun, to launch the trio’s first restaurant together.Located in a Grade II listed building on Cloth Fair, Cloth Restaurant is part of a historic row of buildings in the City of London that survived the Great Fire of 1666. Down this atmospheric alley opposite St Bartholomew church, Cloth is taking over a double fronted corner site that’s beneath the former home of poet John Betjeman and next door to the two oldest residential buildings in London. This was our first visit to Salut! and we had the best evening. The restaurant is small in size, but perfectly laid out. Because of its size the Kitchen is on show, which in our eyes was a bonus. It is quite something to be able to see the food being prepared as you really feel like you are part of something special. This is an intimate and extremely friendly place and the food outstanding - we will definitely be back!

Incredible high quality food and a very relaxed dining experience (we sat in the winter garden heated seats and didn’t get cold). Staff were great, attentive but not crowding. Would highly recommend. I had the confit duck and potatoes.

Very wide choice of menu. Might have been better to limit it at lunchtime. Restaurant empty when we arrived at 12.30 but full by 1.30. Book early for a table. Food a bit variable - some very good, rabbit stew tasty but a bit tough. Coq au Vin first rate . Chocolate musse for dessert not dark enough! Billed as dark chocolate but didn't taste more than 50% cocoa. House red very good value. Service genial and efficient.
