Sungchul Shim, formerly of Per Se and most recently Neta, opens his first solo project Kochi in Hell’s KitchenKOCHI - Korean for ‘skewer’- a tasting menu of skewered dishes as well as menu items inspired by traditional Korean cuisine that’s built around seasonality and balance. We are proud to present this menu as an homage to traditional Korean flavors elevated by the hand of gastronomic technique. Incorporating the freshest local ingredients daily, this is our exquisite interpretation of Korean cuisine.[PLEASE NOTE] We are not able to accommodate vegan, vegetarian with gluten-free and celiac diets as well as any allergies or aversions to allium, sesame (even if sesame oil is consumable), soy, gluten, and alcohol. Great experience since we never had diner at a Korean restaurant before. And we love asian food so this was a welcome new surprise for us. We recommend this highly is you like to eat something different then Japanese, etc.

Cho Dang House does not offer “Korean BBQ.” Instead, it focuses on stews and soups that feature meat or fish as part of the dish rather than the main attraction. It felt like I was at somebody’s mother's house, where meals are made using the same ingredients that mothers have used and perfected as a dish over years of cooking for their families, seasoned beautifully, and with a lot of love. You can tell by the people eating that this was their go-to spot. The restaurant's intimate setting (read small) is calm and relaxed. My colleague and I had a wonderful experience.
