From July 1st, 1957, there had been two owners of Pates, Cloyde Pate followed by the Gardner family of Chatham. Mr. Pate opened the doors to what would soon become one of Cape Cod’s most beloved restaurants. Once a cozy hamburger and ice cream stand, Pates grew to be a place of celebration, camaraderie, and community. From the bonds staff made during countless summer seasons, to the engagements, anniversaries, birthdays, and family gatherings, Pates has been a backdrop for exceptional moments and people. We are honored to steward the next chapter of the Pates journey. A renovated space to create new memories and friends, Pates is still that very special place.     The food was all really good. We shared the crab cakes with a spicy corn salsa, mussels and a cup apiece of lobster bisque. Perfect amount of food for 2 at lunch. Service was excellent. A glass of Rose from Provence was a great accompaniment.

    Enjoyed a wonderful Valentine’s Day multi course dinner with my lovely wife. The view, food and service couldn’t have been better. Certainly one of the finer restaurants on the cape if not MA. We have dined here before but we forget just how wonderful this place is. Staff (includes chef, food prep) couldn’t have been more spot on. Enjoy

    If you like Japanese food this is the place to go to on the Lower Cape! The food is so delicious and the service is excellent.

    Such a lovely buffet! One of the best brunches we ever had. The smoked salmon appetizer & the beef brisket and grits was delicious as well duck fat & bread pudding. The fruit was fresh and the pastry table had a wide assortment of tasty pastries & breads. And the standard eggs, sausage, bacon & potatoes was also delicious. The waitstaff were friendly and efficient. And the room was spacious and the noise level was low.
