Bar Ingo is the third project from the father and son duo, Tomas & Rio, together they have created a comfortable, cosy and casual restaurant with a mix of regular table seating as well as kitchen counter seats where you are close to the action. Named after probably Broadstairs's most famous previous resident, The Charles Dickens pub and dining rooms in Broadstairs had a complete refurbishment and re opened in the summer of 2012. This is one of the largest pubs in Broadstairs, with the main bar downstairs and the dining room and bars upstairs commanding excellent views of Viking Bay. The casual dining experience allows you to take in the relaxed atmosphere of Broadstairs whilst enjoying the best views of the bay in town.

Our magical conservatory restaurant is set amid Updown’s rambling grounds. Dine under the grape vines surrounded by beautiful 17th century brick and watch the chefs in the open kitchen tending to the wood fired grill and original farm house bread oven. The restaurant has been completely transformed by owners Ruth and Oli to be heated and fully enclosed and is open year round.Menus will be small, hyper seasonal and use the best of local and European produce and change on regular basis to reflect what’s best. Everything is cooked over wood in the open kitchen. There is a short list of exciting wines of limited availability, local beers and seasonal cocktails.On Wednesday nights in place of our à la carte we cook a Steak Night menu , priced at £30 per person for 3 courses. On Sunday nights the restaurant is closed but we serve a light supper for hotel guests in the Farmhouse.

Lovely food served in the small plates style. Good selection of dishes on the menu. Cosy atmosphere with friendly and engaging staff. Sensibly priced (£58 inc service for 2 of us sharing 4 dishes and our glasses of beer).

The Max Rocha guest chef evening was delightful. The food was great, there was plenty of it, the people we were seated with were interesting. It was a fun evening.
