Uncle Bacala’s specializes in Italian-style seafood and other inventive dishes in its warm and cozy New Hyde Park eatery. My wife and I, born 2 days apart celebrated our birthdays with our 4 children and had an amazing experience as we always do at Uncle Baccalas. We took advantage of their anniversary price fix menu. The rigatoni a la vodka was great as was my chicken francaise. My son’s short rib fell off the bone and my wife’s chicken piccata was so tender. My other two children truly enjoyed their grilled salmon. Their only complaint was that it came with a lot of mushrooms on the side which if they knew they would have asked to leave off or replace. Desserts were delicious and enjoyed with the staff singing happy birthday to us and my youngest enjoying the giant cotton candy he got. Never a bad experience at one of our favorite restaurants.

Had a wonderful dinner sitting at the bar this past Sunday night! Our bartender Darren was extremely attentive and courteous. The pork chop with red cabbage and the pot roast entrees were awesome. Enjoyed also the flourless chocolate desert. We will be back again!

This is a crazy good place to have a Valentine's Day date. The staff was friendly and super into it, and it will tell you if your date has a sense of humor. Highly recommended to make a funny and special memory.
