August is a restaurant that sits in the old heritage church on Dornoch Terrace, West End. Our dining room is surrounded by objects, art, and the original pitched church ceiling and stained glass windows. Our menu is influenced by regional food from France, Italy and SpainAugust is open for dinner from 5pm on Wednesday - Saturday, and from 12pm for Sunday Lunch. We have one of the largest Japanese whisky collections on our back bar which we recommend served over hand cut ice or try one of our sakes or Japanese tap beers. Our sashimi is the freshest around and our fave place to sit is at the dining bar. Kanpaii!!

    Celebrated my son's 21st Birthday with a set menu for 10 ordering the Wagyu rump drop. Amazing food, value, service and ambience. Staff were excellent - caring, considerate and attentive and made it a successful and joyous event. Venue was gorgeous, classy and felt like a high class resort. Thank you very much to Black Hide - looking forward to dining there again.

    You cannot go through life with out experiencing this restaurant. The food is outstanding, fresh with mouth watering flavours I couldn't get enough of. The wait staff are excellent, very attentive & seemed to be always there when we needed them without hovering. Wine selection is great & perfectly accompanied the food.

    Delicious food, friendly and helpful service. It was quite noisy though. Maybe the acoustics, or perhaps just very loudly spoken customers. Outdoors might be better.

    Food and service was good. Just the people that had dishes with prawns felt there wasn’t much prawns just a lot of pasta to there dish. But we still all enjoyed it and will be back, next time they will just make sure they order it with extra
