We have one major focus: the popular German street food - schnitzel. We also have wursts made by local German meat market legend, Binkert's (Rosedale, MD). Other partnerships include a Black Forest Ice Cream Sandwich by Scoop & Paddle (Clarksville, MD).We use fresh meats and vegetables, never frozen. The pretzels are made by hand by an Army vet who learned to make pretzels in Germany after his service. The sauces are made from scratch. Our cocktail program features both popular and obscure German spirits. The wine program consists of small-production family-owned wineries in Germany and Austria. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ampersea, and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, Joey, the manager/greeter, greeted us with such warmth and enthusiasm that we felt right at home. His kindness set the tone for the entire evening. The service throughout the meal was impeccable—our waiters were attentive without being overbearing, ensuring our drinks were always topped off and checking in just the right amount. A special shout-out goes to Oscar, the bartender, who was absolutely phenomenal. He crafted some of the best cocktails I’ve had in a while, with perfect balance and creativity. Overall, Ampersea delivered on both food and service, and the personal touches from Joey and the rest of the team made it a memorable night. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, fantastic drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere!
