The 17th Century craftsman’s cottage has gradually been extended to form a charming country pub full of nooks and crannies. Under new ownership, The Black Horse has recently undergone extensive refurbishment both inside and out, creating one of the nicest pub environments in the area.Food is our passion and we will never compromise on quality. A first visit and enjoyed the whole experience. A friendly welcome and coats quickly dealt with, taken to a relaxing bar area upstairs. When we sat at our table, service, food and wine were excellent. Atmosphere and temperature (on a cold evening outside) were perfect. It’s an expensive night especially if drinking a lot - we will return.

Delicious food in lovely comfortable restaurant; service was impeccable; wine ordered was a quality product; we thought the set lunch provided great value with free basket of hot bread with some sauces Overall a great experience as we had a lovely leisurely afternoon over lunch and we will definitely repeat this soon

I've always liked this place. It just missed the mark a little for me this time. The calamari was very very chewy. The Tuna Niçoise Salad was OK.
