Riva in Helensburgh is one of the finest Italian and Mediterranean restaurants in town. On West Clyde Street, the Riva dining space is stylish and comfortable which, in a way, reflects the food: traditional, wholesome recipes prepared and presented in a contemporary way. From both the Riva lunch menu and the a la carte, expect pizza, pasta, meat and fish, with each dish featuring only the freshest produce that’s local where possible or imported from Italy. Having read some of the reviews I wasn’t sure this would be a great experience. It was the best afternoon tea I have ever had. Everything on the cake stand was fresh and delicious. The waiter was lovely, very good at his job. Being a Tuesday it was quiet but very enjoyable. The only downside was it was a little pricey but I guess you get what you pay for.
