A Sicilian by way of Chicago, from a family of Sicilian chefs and restaurateurs. He made a name for himself, serving Orange County for 30 years. Piccolino serves some of the best Italian inspirations in Orange County. Piccolino retains its Sicilian philosophy and passion for food by combining traditional old-world flavors and contemporary infusions. When Salvatore Faso opened Piccolino Ristorante in 2007, his goal was simple: to combine his lifelong experiences in the finest Italian restaurants with the finest ingredients, authenticity, preparation, and his passion for the Canyon and its surrounding communities. Piccolino Ristorante serves regional Italian cuisine, including artisan-made pasta, fresh wild-caught fish, and the finest meats and poultry on the market daily. Vintage décor, white tablecloths, and candlelit tables provide a romantic dining experience.

    Loved the food we had. Focaccia appetizer was yummy and flavorful. The gnocchi was rich and tasty and so was the cannelloni. We'd definitely return if we come to this area again.

    Food and service were outstanding. Upscale Italian with mostly local clientele. Worth the drive if you're from out of town.

    Delightful find in walking distance from the Ayres Hotels. Very gracious host and our wonderful waiter Paolo. My paper thin filet mignon carpaccio topped with a generous serving of arugula and shaved parmesan, drizzled with olive oil and capers. Best Ive ever had! My pasta was a rich saffron cream sauce with shrimp and scallops...rich and delicious. Husband enjoyed white sea bass with roasted potatoes a perfectly prepared vegetables. You wont be disappointed!

    We and our friend had never been to Piccolino Ristorante and we were so glad we went. Our food was wonderful and the service was great. One couldn't ask for a more pleasant evening. We would recommend Piccolino Ristorante to anyone looking for an Italian restaurant.

    The staff was first class, food delicious and the surroundings pleasant. Can’t ask for much more than that. First time guest but we will return.

    This is an excellent restaurant, and we come here often. We usually come during the week, when it is calm. Last night was a Saturday night, and it was jammed (Veterans' Day weekend). The food was fine, as always; but the service suffered. We waited quite a while to get our waiter, while he ran to many tables trying to keep up. The food took a long time to come out, because the kitchen was jammed - it seemed like everyone arrived about the same time last night. The noise level in the main dining room was so high that we had to practically shout to be heard at the table, thereby adding to the din. Last night was not up to the standards we expect at this restaurant, and we trust it will be better on our next visit. This is obviously not the place to go on a holiday weekend.

    This is a very good restaurant, with a true Italian flavor to most of the dishes we had, not Italian-American. Many fine ingredients are shown on the menu to indicate the extraordinary quality. The Tortellini di Panna was the best pasta we have had since the last time we were in Italy. The menu is very diverse and more or less competitive with good Italian-American restaurants. The only criticism I would make is that at least some specials are much more expensive and the waiter did not tell us the prices; we had to ask. One beef special was $93, which would have been a shock if one expected $30 or $40 based on the regular menu prices. This is not a criticism of the price; that may have been necessary due to cost of ingredients. The wine list is unusually fine, although since we are elderly, neither of us can drink much. The waiter tolerated this politely. We will certainly return to Piccolino.
