Porter & luke's opened in 2012 and was selected as one of the top ten new restaurants in New Orleans. We have also been Featured in the new Fox TV food show Flip MY Food w/ Chef Jeff.                                                                                                         We were disappointed in the restaurant. It was very loud and could hardly hear your waiter. My husband's dinner came a couple minutes after the salad. I could not eat my salad . It smelled like all I was eating was onions. My dish was grilled red fish. The fish was ok but the rest was so overly salted I sent it back. This restaurant was nothing to write home about. It was our first and last time. Sorry

                                                                                                        I never write bad reviews but it took 30 minutes for them to seat us, while they sat at least 25 other people before us (reservation was for 4:45pm, didn’t get seated until after 5:15pm); they said they were getting the table ready but there were at least 20 open tables and then when we were finally seated the table was empty, no silverware, no menus. The table rocked all night, I honestly thought it was going to fall over. We were given 2 menus to share amongst 5 people. We were also celebrating a (70th) birthday which was mentioned in the reservation and upon arrival and not once was anything celebrated. Food and service were fine but overall disappointing experience and will not return.

                                                                                                        I’ve eaten at Porter & Luke’s several times for brunch and it has not disappointed! This time I had the onion rings which were probably the best onion rings I’ve ever had. I also had the special of the day- Catfish Sophie which was fried catfish with angel hair pasta with crawfish cream sauce. It was so amazing! Of course I always love to try specialty drinks and had the Carnival Martini which was yummy. And I tried the Mardi Gras doberge cake that was moist and delicious!

                                                                                                        Would have liked my entree hotter in temperature. The eggplant rounds were too thick in my opinion - maybe frozen and not made by the kitchen from a fresh eggplant?

                                                                                                        The food was excellent -we had the red fish special and the chicken parm. The staff was very friendly. Our server, Michelle, was great. She was very friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu.

                                                                                                        The food was excellent… The  service was slow, but I don’t think it’s normally like that. It seemed like something might be going on. It was our first time so I couldn’t say for sure but the food was very very good so definitely worth a try.
