13 Gypsies is a cozy, intimate Spanish tapas restaurant. You can also find the influence of other cuisines throughout the menu. Primarily utilizing Spanish techniques to prepare both creative and classic renditions of Spanish dishes, Chef Howard and Chef Kevan operate a true craft kitchen. The two of them prepare and cook most everything from scratch including breads, cured meats, cheeses, sausages, spice blends, pickled vegetables, and desserts. This practice of making nearly everything in house promotes waste-free cooking and higher quality food. Our wines are mainly from Spain, and our beer is Florida local. We are located in a two-story Spanish-style building built in 1923 by Henrietta Dozier, Jacksonville's only female architect in the early part of the 20th century. You will find eclectic, maximalist religious iconography adorning the walls and original floor tile. We have few tables, so reservations are highly recommended. Last seating is an hour and a half before closing time.

                                                  If I could give this restaurant a million stars, I would. This was my first time eating here and it’s no shocker that Kevan Kimball won Best Chef in Jax for Folio. My fiancé and I split 10 dishes, two of those being desserts. Every plate was so thoroughly enjoyed. The flavor combinations? Woah. And given it’s a small place with few tables, you really feel like your food is made with care and attention. I have no words for how much we loved 13 Gypsies.

                                                  Always love this gem of a place. The service-Andrew-is consistently attentive & warm. The food, layers of flavor & goodness. The atmosphere-perfect-especially these days when so many establishments are noisy & chaotic. This is a culinary home away from home. 🌟🌟🌟
