This was the first time after the new Orchids was established. I was very positive surprised. The menu is more Americanized but very well done. Quality was superb.

Food was delicious. The room is amazing. It's a must see, even if you just sit in the bar. Server did a good job. But we had a few hiccups that may have been avoided by better restaurant management. Didn't see a manager. One of us waited a long time for their meal(which was a "special") . The meal came out after the rest of the party was finished eating. Coffee also took too long. Dessert was finished before the coffee arrived without sugar or spoons. We had to ask for our finished plates to be removed. Parking $21. Half of the patrons were wearing sweatpants/pjs and hoodies. It's a cool place, and could be fine dining if they stepped it up a bit.

I took a friend to 1931 to celebrate her retirement and she loved the salmon she ordered. There was a piano player in the lounge, which added to the lovely ambiance of this restaurant. Our server was helpful and welcoming.

I am deeply disappointed by the experience my friends and I had at 1931 Cincinnati on February 27th. We had a reservation for 8:30 PM, which we booked online after seeing availability, including for 9:00 PM. When we realized we would be a few minutes late, we called the restaurant to confirm if arriving 3-4 minutes late was okay, and they assured us it was fine. However, when we arrived, we were initially seated in the dining area and started looking at the menu. That’s when an older, short man started staring at us in a way that felt uncomfortable and unsettling. Moments later, he approached us and demanded that we either leave or move to the bar, claiming the dining area was closed. Although this felt abrupt, we complied, assuming he was telling the truth. Once in the bar area, a waiter noticed what had happened and politely asked if we had wanted to sit in the dining area. We told him yes but mentioned that we were told it was closed. He was visibly confused and informed us that the dining area was not closed. When we asked if this was because we were people of color, he nodded. The waiter escalated the situation to the manager, who eventually seated us himself and said he would serve us for the night. However, the same older man continued staring at us and even approached our table again, engaging in a brief discussion with the manager. By this point, the entire experience had become so uncomfortable and humiliating that we decided to leave. This was one of the most disappointing experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. No customer should be treated differently because of their race. We came for a nice dinner, only to have our night completely ruined by discrimination. The restaurant needs to address this behavior immediately, or it will continue to make other guests feel unwelcome.

Monday night dinner post Valentine's Day. There were maybe five other tables occupied. Service was great however disappointing that they were out of two things we ordered (not informed beforehand). Steak was excellent; scallops not so much. Love the ambience - especially the bar!

Serving a fixed menu due to Valentine's day. The food seemed to be prepared sous vide and the meats needed to be seared before serving. Fingerling potatoes were under cooked and poorly seasoned . I will try again with the normal menu because we love this venue.
