34 is Chef Emeril Lagasse’s first restaurant dedicated to the cuisine of his Portuguese heritage. He was inspired by his late mother, Hilda, who influenced his interest in cooking when he was a child growing up in Fall River, MA. The 245-seat restaurant is adorned in shades of green – Emeril’s signature color – wood accents and ornate Portuguese tiles. A painting of a rooster, a national Portuguese symbol of good luck, greets guests at the entrance. Once inside, a jamon bar with countertop service and tile-clad DJ booth are focal points of the space. The restaurant celebrates not only the food and design of Portugal but also the sounds, with music from local and touring DJs.

This restaurant is beautiful. The food was amazing, and the service was top notch. Our server Jada was great! The two sommeliers, Nicole and Britt, were wonderful and knowledgeable. The wine they helped us select was delicious!

A wonderful experience all around. Nick, our server with an extensive knowledge of the menu, guided us on a tour of Portuguese cuisine that is way outside our normal box. Fantastic job by all involved. We will certainly be back.

Inconsistent food and service. The shrimp were served, semi raw and cold. They were tasty though. It took a long time to have someone notice that we weren’t eating it and try to correct it. It took a very long time to get a second version of the shrimp. The management was kind enough to take it off the bill. The chicken is just simply delicious. The sardine toaster also excellent. Service was spotty.

Everything was delicious. Really enjoyed the sardines, jamón tomato bread, mushrooms, potato dish bacalhau, shrimp. The custard tart was also wonderful. Donuts good too. Cool place with a DJ for music. Servers were great and gave really good advise. A little expensive but it is Emeril’s.

Welcome change-of-pace Iberian peninsula concept executed quite brilliantly. We had the duck arroz (terrific), the per-peri chicken (super-tasty), the bachalhau a bras (salted cod & potato, wonderful) and the creamy carrots (fantastic, revelatory even); really hard to choose from so many interesting offerings, gotta go back soon, highly recommend.
