34 is Chef Emeril Lagasse’s first restaurant dedicated to the cuisine of his Portuguese heritage. He was inspired by his late mother, Hilda, who influenced his interest in cooking when he was a child growing up in Fall River, MA. The 245-seat restaurant is adorned in shades of green – Emeril’s signature color – wood accents and ornate Portuguese tiles. A painting of a rooster, a national Portuguese symbol of good luck, greets guests at the entrance. Once inside, a jamon bar with countertop service and tile-clad DJ booth are focal points of the space. The restaurant celebrates not only the food and design of Portugal but also the sounds, with music from local and touring DJs.

Excellent food prep and service. Should be served as tapas. Go here to share great tastes. We loved it. Our server was Claire. Very knowledgeable and patient

Unfortunately we had a sub par experience… we were highly recommended so we were excited !!! Bones in one of the dishes and the shrimp you couldn’t even eat!! The rice dish with lobster had a great taste but the lobster was tough. Very disappointed after being told about a great experience and food by a colleague. Our waitress however was very sweet and did a great job and was knowledgeable. Manager needs TRAINING….

The server spoke too softly and very quickly. It was hard to understand her. There was an appetizer with shrimp. It came out with the shell still on. We were advised that the shell was meant to be eaten. It was not palatable and very messy and not a good experience. This was disappointing because being an Emeril restaurant, One would think the dishes were tested. A table next to us ordered the same appetizer and had the same complaint. The harsh judgment comes from the fact that this is supposedly an experienced restaurateur knowing how to present food. Perhaps quality control is necessary in absence of the Chef namesake.

We went on a Sunday evening, a rainy Sunday evening, but the staff acted like they were there to serve us in the best way possible. Because of the weather, we had the place to ourselves and it was outstanding. The food, the wine, the ambiance, the room, the servers - all excellent.

It was great , we went for happy hour and enjoyed all that we had, which was marinated olives, potato chips with jamon, and puri pao with potatoes bravas

I thought the food was delicious. Our service was marginal, but with a lot of effort, the food came out much faster than I thought it would the portions for the amount of money you pay did not seem to be adequate. I think the restaurant overall was outstanding maybe a little bit noisy because I couldn’t hear What the waiter was saying when he was explaining the menu. I think in the next six months, this will be the place to be.

Jason is excellent at his job. He does a great job explaining the menu and all of his recommendations were perfect. Food, cocktails were very good.

octopus dish presented grandly w excellent flavoring; TOO CHEWY! one of the sweet potatoes was HARD. Better quality control needed. Will be back to see how things develop. Overall, enjoyed ambiance and food presentation and flavorings. Excellent Portuguese wine offerings and food choices.

The food was outstanding! And our waiter who is also the Bar Manager Damien Connor was so helpful and spot on with all his recommendations! We will be back for sure!
