The 8848 Restaurant sits proudly on Union Street in the heart of Aberdeen. Located near many attractions, it is the perfect location to enjoy outstanding Indian and Nepalese cuisine.
The restaurant is named after Mount Everest’s tallest peak and true to its name, the staff are certainly aiming high. Built on a foundation of talent and experience, The 8848 shares its owners with the established the 8848 Stamford. Having gained a string of awards with these restaurants, they aspire to achieve the same standards for their more recent establishment.
Inside, the atmosphere is fresh and contemporary with classic white linen and flower-laden tables to bring a touch of elegance into the venue. The interior also pays homage to ancient Nepal by adorning the walls with exquisite Nepalese paintings. Our philosophy is simple. Lovely meal and very well presented. Staff friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Would ddefinitely go back again and can recommend the restuarant to others. Wonderful evening.

Great food, great service and a quiet atmosphere, but not a library. The spicy curry and naan were terrific as well as the lamb rack dish that I ordered. My wife ordered the lamb Biryani and enjoyed it also.

The restaurant was struggling with service, it was an hour's wait before we were served our mains. The upper floor decor is miles apart from the ground floor. Food was ok - they are authentic in some sense but lack the quality - meat that are meant to be served tender were not sufficiently tender, so you can tell they hadn't cooked it sufficiently long enough. It's not bad but it's not that great. In terms of service, they were friendly and polite. However, they lack the service quality of properly managed formal dining service- this is based on my experience in hospitality industry. For example, when bringing patrons to their table (from waiting area), they just gathered numerous different groups - abit like rounding up herds. Then when sitting 3 persons, they removed a seat so that one is left to sit awkwardly in a table for 4 - which isn't good dining etiquette. For the price you pay, you'll expect the service to be better than a takeaway doubling up as restaurant -type service.

Visited on a Saturday night 8pm, Place was busy. Took drinks order reasonably quick and asked if we could order food at same time but was told they would be back. A good 15 mins after drinks were served to us they took order. Starter arrived at 9pm, waiters avoided our eye and there was no apology. Starter was nice but as soon as finished main meal served immediately and it looked like it had been kept warm as sauce on one had dried up. Food was ok, wouldn't rush back. We weren't only ones who had waited ages for food, think they had taken on too much.

seating terrible cold air coming from front door made it very uncomfortable asked for a different seat but wasn't accommodated. should have been told about seating when table was booked but that was kept quiet. on speaking to other diners it had happened to them also

The people working here were extremely friendly and clearly passionate about the food that they were serving. The starters were fresh and delicious and the main courses were beautiful. Terrific flavours and quality ingredients. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone and would definitely return should I be back in Aberdeen. Top class!

Been here 3 times . First 2 times were amazing . Unfortunately we got out up stairs and it took over an hour to get starters then another 45 mins to get a main . Won't be going back any time soon .

Because of the topranking on Tripadvisor we had high expectaions to this restaurant, so unfortunately we were a bit disapointed
