The Biltmore Adobe is a terrific place to have a delicious dinner in a casually elegant environment. Terrific service at breakfast, lunch or dinner.

We went to the Orin swift wine dinner. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. Every bite of food was outstanding. We loved the intimate setting, the time we spent with the chef, the wine, the entire staff and we can’t believe how exquisite the food was. We can’t wait for the next event!

We made a reservation for 11:45 on the patio. In the shade. There seemed to be a lot of confusion, and they were checking if they had a table. We had brought my mother from her assisted living facility, and they left us standing there. When I asked the hostess why we didn’t have a table, she was rude and said it was busy. We were finally seated by a man with grey hair and glasses that was equally rude when I asked him why there wasn’t a table when we had made a reservation. We put in our food and drink order. No drinks and no appetizers arrived after 45 minutes. My husband went to the bar and got someone to bring our drinks. Still no food and it’s been over an hour. We finally saw a manager, Jacob. He immediately went to check on the food. Clearly, it wasn’t ready. He came out with it about 15 minutes later. He was kind and offered to pick up the tab. That wasn’t really what we wanted; however, it was a very nice gesture. We ended up having a nice time, but they need to get it together. Jacob did a nice job making it right and he was doing so for several other patrons. They picked up half the tab. It’s a beautiful place, but staff needs some training and some kindness really goes a long way.

Service must get better or we will not return. Something must be done about the kitchen as the food took forever to come out and when it did, most of it was cold. Every Sunday, Jacob apologizes for the bad service yet the next Sunday it is always just as bad. Always seem to have new wait staff and not enough. Jerry Colangelo should do so much better!

My wife and I were doing a little “staycation” at the Arizona Biltmore on her birthday weekend. This was our first visit since the reno. On Sunday, we had a reservation for a table for two. When we checked in, we had to wait for about 15 minutes before we were seated. Once seated, it took 15-20 minutes before anyone came to take a drink order, then it took another 10 minutes for the drinks to show up. Then there was another delay before our server took our lunch order. If you are detecting a theme here, the service was terribly slow. Fortunately for us, the weather was beautiful, there was live music on the patio and we were in no particular hurry. I would say that from the time we were seated until we were served lunch was at least 35 minutes. To answer your next likely question, they were busy but the restaurant was not completely full. I don’t know if they were understaffed or if it was our particular waitress, but it was SLOW. The food was a different story…and was really excellent once it finally arrived. My wife had the Huevos Rancheros. She said it was delicious and the eggs were prepared to her liking. She did say it was a little on the spicy side, which she likes but not everyone does. I had the Links Cobb, which was also very good. The salad comes with an avocado ranch dressing. The salad portions were ample and the lettuce fresh and crunchy. The dressing was a little thin to me. It didn’t seem that there was a lot of avocado and there was a little spice in it. It would not be my first choice next time. I would go with a different dressing choice. The wine choices by the glass were reasonably priced but the choices were limited. I really do think they need to address the service issue. I think that we will return, but probably just sit at the bar. The full menu is available there and it is a lot easier to snag a bartender who is right in front of you vs trying to flag down a waitress who was rarely in our vicinity on the patio.
