The Roslin Beach Hotel & Retreat is renowned for the finest afternoon tea in Essex. Experience this tradition every day from 12.30pm to 4.30pm, nestled in this beautiful hotel. Truly a charming and delightful way to spend your afternoon, you’ll enjoy an opulent setting with elegant, welcoming service, transforming tea into an indulgent treat. Our traditional English afternoon tea is served on quaint vintage Duchess bone china with an eclectic range of teas or freshly brewed coffee.
Your exquisite homemade tea will be served on a three-tiered cake stand with a splendid array of fancies including finger sandwiches with a selection of fillings, fruit scones with Devonshire clotted cream and an assortment of Tiptree jams. A collection of home-made cakes and treats is the greatest accompaniment to finish this perfect example of British culture inspired by tradition.

The hotel has 58 car parking spaces and 4 disabled spaces, all which are free to our customers.<br />The adjacent roads however can be parked on but have restrictions in place from March 1st till October 31st which means after the hours of 6pm and before 9am the next day you can park on the street also.<br />A pay and display car park is also located 200 yards from the hotel and parking on the seafront is free.

I booked Afternoon Tea for my friends birthday. It was a lovely afternoon and the food was delicious. The staff were lovely and anything you can't eat they box up for you to take home. I think it is a lovely treat and is a great gift for someone. Definitely worth the money will be coming back for afternoon tea again.

Food was good and where we was seated was fine but service was rubbish we had to keep asking for assistance we could never get a waitress eye and I got up a few times to ask the waitress something either for more tea and clotted cream or just for the bill and then when we choose to not pay the service charge the waitress then got moody with us, I've been a couple of times to the roslin and this time was far the worst I've experienced.

Having had the old Afternoon Tea menu I was looking forward to trying the new Afternoon Tea menu. Well we were left disappointed. The cakes were nice, the sandwiches were ok. Please bring back the old Afternoon Tea...better value for money.

excellent service made a fuss for my wife,s 60th birthday, there were 4 of us and it cost £88 for 1 sandwich each 1 scone each and some small cakes I found it a rip off

Not impressed on this occasion - Waited too long for service and when we got home advised that our bill had been previously settled by our daughter via the telephone/card payment and we paid again. Not good service waited too long for the afternoon tea. Also when the person phoned to advise of double payment blamed it on new staff but this should have shown up on the computer that our bill had been previously paid when we asked for the bill our daughter paid for it as an Anniversary present.

We came as colleagues from work to have afternoon tea and get together We all enjoyed the tea even one lady that had the vegetarian option The atmosphere was nice and seating very comfortable with great views Enjoyed our afternoon and would come again

Afternoon tea has never disappointed, I've been there on several occasions. Food is delicious, tea was plentiful and the table was decorated with balloons and sparkles as it was my birthday (which I was not expecting). Staff were lovely, I even took my balloons home!
