Located on the lobby level of Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa, the Sugar Loaf Lounge is perfect for meeting, greeting and watching the world go by. Serving traditional Afternoon Tea daily and cocktails each evening, the Lounge is a haven of hospitality. Furnished and appointed in a style of gracious Georgian living, there's a traditional warmth to the Sugar Loaf Lounge our guests often comment on. Of course, the spectacular scenery outside, framed by the vast curved windows offers a breath-taking counterpoint to the intimate welcome within. Here there's always something to talk about.

Fabulous location and setting with great view from table. Table beautifully set. Lovely atmosphere with Carol singers. Beautiful decorations. I had gluten free option which was poor. The bread and the scones were very poor quality, tasted stale - which gluten free often does but it is very possible to prevent that with better quality and more thought. Could not eat the bread or the scones. The sandwich fillings were good however straight from fridge so not that tasty. The flapjack and the 2 choc desserts were good. The pavlova was rock hard - could not cut it with knife - only way was biting it. Not at all good. Some of the crockery was chipped and some of the staff uniforms were grubby. Not offered fresh cups when we changed type of tea. The staff were attentive and friendly but did not seem well trained. I would not usually leave a bad review as think it is unfair not to say it directly. When leaving I was asked if everything was okay. I mentioned the food and the response was I will tell the kitchen team - that’s it - no more of a response than that. Not at all a 5 star experience although the hotel itself - the physical product is very much 5 star.

We had an absolutely wonderful afternoon tea at the Sugarloaf Lounge, the service was fabulous and the food was amazing! We had a beautiful table with a fabulous view and were so well looked after. We'll be coming here every for our Christmas Eve family afternoon tea every year from now on, and no doubt many times in between.

I was really looking forward to going to afternoon tea at Christmas in Powerscourt and I’m sure when I looked at booking there was going to be a pianist playing - sadly none, elevator music playing in the background Tasteless sandwiches refrigerated- very nice scones , macaroons but the other items mediocre. Very nice teas/ staff extremely nice and attentive - won’t be booking again sadly!

This is such a lovely venue for Afternoon tea. The staff were so attentive, the food was such a treat and presented in such a way that it was a shame to eat it (it looked so good). It was a lovely calm experience while the madness of pre-Christmas goes on outside. A real escape and a real treat. Thank you.

Lovely experience for our festive afternoon tea such a beautiful hotel. Was amazing all beautifully decorated for Xmas. Food was beautiful Cudnt have wanted for more was so nice. Lovely atmosphere so relaxing and lady playing the piano just so beautiful to listen to so relaxing and cosy.

Service very poor. Asked for numerous items several times and never got it. Asked for milk after tea. Took almost 15 minutes to get milk. Asked for our bill 4 times. Asked for boxes for leftovers 3 times. So slow and very very poor service.

Brought my mother for afternoon tea here and we all really enjoyed it. The food was delicious and plentiful, we couldn't even finish it all so they boxed it up for us. Staff were very pleasant, attentive and friendly. View of sugar loaf was fab. The piano player was brilliant and made the ambience perfect. I'd highly recommend here. It's so relaxing and the place is done up lovely for Christmas.

From the lovely phone call the day before arriving, to the time we parked and walked in the door, staff, hotel and overall feel was so welcoming. Amazing place for a birthday celebration and the staff singing happy birthday made my partners week!!! Thanks so much. Above and beyond expectations.

I had a delightful afternoon tea experience! The service was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcomed. Every detail was beautifully thought out, from the presentation of the food to the cozy atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wonderful selection of fresh pastries, finger sandwiches, and perfectly brewed tea. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, indulgent afternoon.
