   What a great place for food and ambience. The entire meal was great and the happy hour pricing is amazing. The only issue I have is the serves seemed annoyed as we had to continue to ask for someone to serve us. We had drink orders after 20 minutes finally taken and appetizers. The appetizers were done prior to to anyone coming to see us to order the main dishes. However if the servers were more attentive then this would have been a full 5/5!

   Food was excellent. Staff were kind but very slow. The order of everything was off. Got our appetizers before our drinks, served the edamame without a discard bowl, brought the soy dishes for the sushi after we already ate. Took 20 minutes to get our bill after requested. I would return, but make sure you aren't in a rush to go anywhere.

   The wait staff was overwhelmed and had a hard time fully taking care of us. The menu is for the most part not able to accommodate gluten free people.

   My husband and I made a Saturday night reservation through OpenTable for our anniversary. Gorgeous design, energetic ambiance, awesome DJ, good food, but service was seriously lacking. It felt like we were waiting and waiting to get a glimpse of our server just so we could order more beers/cocktails. We waved down runners and other servers asking if we could put in a drink order through them, and they told us we could only place drink orders through our server. Pathetic operation. Food came out slow too. Additionally, it seemed the restaurant was giving out free desserts with a song for celebrations around us, yet, not once did our server with an Italian accent ask if we were celebrating anything. I had even put it down in the notes or “Special Request” section of OpenTable- so what is the point of that section if the restaurants don’t acknowledge it? We ordered the yellowtail sashimi appetizer (great!), organic greens salad (great!), miso cod (on the sweet side), lobster garlic noodles (good, just a bit saucy), and the red chocolate lava cake (not a lava cake at all, no filling in the middle). For all we had, I don’t think it was worth the $$$$. There are so many amazing restaurants in SD.

   Took a friend that was visiting from Japan she wanted to try American sushi and Japanese’s food. I loved all the energy that you feel when you walk in. We just came from top of Hyatt for drinks so now we wanted some food. The menu has a mix of different Asian flavors. It was unique. We have visited a lot of the countries that had certain specialties on the menu. We really loved the shrimp pad Thai. It was spicy but sweet. We asked our waitress what her favorite roll was and she told me the first one on the menu which had mango in it. It was very tropical so again unique, it had fresh yellowtail with it. My friend had to try their style if a California roll. I will say I liked it alit and she did too. Which is saying a lot since she lives in Japan. It was a fun experience, great place for a birthday. We saw a lot of them. I love themed restaurants so it was great.

   This is one of the best places to eat in San Diego. The food is outstanding, especially the seafood, and the ambience and whole feel of the place is wonderful and cohesively themed. Will definitely be back!
