   One of DC’s best restaurants. The bar program is top notch and the food quality is even better. We had brunch and everyone enjoyed their meal. Our server/bartender was so nice. We sat outside under the covered portion of the patio. To start we had the Brace For Impact and Easy A. For food we had the Biscuits and Gravy, Boursin Omelette, Steelhead Trout Lox and the Cornmeal pancake. We finished it all. Also the espresso martini was outstanding.

   Wow, wow, wow - what a thoughtful (and delicious dining experience! We had the five course Cherry Blossom prix fixe and EVERY course was an absolute delight, surpassed only by the attentive and engaging service. An absolute gem!

   The food was delicious! Although we were slightly frustrated by the slow service, we must give a 5 star rating based upon the food and cocktails. It is somewhat noisy, which may impact conversation. It is an attractive restaurant but somewhat cramped.

   Four friends having drinks and dinner before a 7:30 curtain at Kennedy Center! And running late. But the staff took complete care of us, we had starters, mains and dessert in 65 minutes and were on our way. The staff was wonderful, the food delicious, desserts a dream. Super recommend...!!

   Came for a birthday dinner on a week night, the restaurant felt understaffed. Our server was friendly at first; however, did not ask about our preferences or why we were dining there. She just listed half the menu as here favorite and asked to take our order. It felt as if she paid a touch more attention to the tables ordering bottles of wine or had more covers associated with it. (Although at $100 check average per person we certainly felt deserving of attention.) We did hear her mention that most of the staff was working the patio and not in the dining room. Our food was dropped by support staff, a few folks came to ask if we wanted another cocktail or food, and water was refilled promptly. No one checked on our meal to see how we were enjoying the meal or why we were dining there until we were done. No one described the dishes as they were dropped at the table, which was disappointing as we would have liked to have learned about them. We never saw our initial server until she came by to mention how busy they were and asked if we wanted a dessert menu. We declined as we were full and the pace of the meal was very slow. The cold apps came out fast, but the hot food was not fired promptly. Upon asking for the check, the manager came over and offered a birthday dessert which we accepted, and was a nice touch; however, the recognition at the start of the meal or attention throughout would have gone a long way. All in all the food was wonderful! Big fan of the biscuits, chicken, and burger. The mushrooms were creative, but needed more aioli for how large the portion was and how dense they were. Both cocktails that we ordered were creative and delicious. I would go back to the restaurant and sit at the bar to ensure prompt service and an opportunity to try the cocktails.

   We had a terrific meal at a.kitchen + bar last night. For the first time in years, I had delicious dishes that I'd never eaten before, such as lamb ribs with a distinctive sauce that did not overpower the lamb taste, and crispy (lightly breaded) wild mushrooms in a tangy sauce. The place was a bit noisy, but we found a reasonably quiet table where we could easily chat. We'll definitely be back!

    I've enjoyed dining here before, but this was my first time attending an event at this restaurant. It was such a fun experience, mingling with both familiar and new faces! We sampled various types of specialty coffee and had the chance to meet the owners and creative director. I was touched by their generosity in giving us a bag of specialty coffee to take home and offering water and oyster mushroom samples. I only wish I had time to stay for brunch, as the restaurant's food is truly delicious.
