   Underwhelming experience and a bit depressing. Burgers were almost inedible. Schnitzel was fatty and lacked taste. Ugly decor and big tv screen showing landscapes... not really very harmonious.

   The restaurant was closed when I arrived for my 8:00 PM reservation. I had to settle for the Yard House which was good but I was hoping for a more formal dinning experience. I called several times without any response. Finally at 8:50 PM someone answered and when I asked them if they were open she responded yes at 9:00 PM. So why did you accept a reservation for 8:00 PM. They blamed day light saving time. Totally ridiculous for a business to be run this way. I had read some reviews with other dinners experiencing the same. But didn’t understand it. Now I know!

As a Kosher restaurant, our staff observes Shabbat, affecting our ability to answer calls during certain hours. However, we should have communicated this more clearly to avoid confusion. We deeply regret the mistake made with the reservation time due to the Daylight Saving Time change and are taking steps to prevent such errors in the future.    The food was good…nothing spectacular. The service was nice. The restaurant lacked the feeling of being upscale…yet the menu had upscale prices. I wouldn’t come back.

   We had the Harisa soup, the Abu Hayzera meatballs, and the Shnitzel. The soup was delicious. Filled with lentils and other delicious veggies. Very filling. The meatballs were very nice. The schnitzel with eggplant was very moist and tender. Everything was delicately spiced. Service was excellent. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. Will definitely go back.

    We’ve been to Alma many times in the past and have always enjoyed our meal. This is the first time we’ve been there since Tagine has also been in business; we’re sorry we didn’t try this much sooner! The only downside was that my husband said that his lamb chops were way overcooked; he did order the to be medium rare and untrimmed. They were more well done and completely trimmed. Despite this, we were so lovingly taken care of by Yvonne, our server. She was available to us without being intrusive. We loved the atmosphere and the booth that was very comfortable, almost like being served on your couch at home. Such a nice change of menu from much of the usual menu items in meat restaurants in South Florida. We appreciate the diversity and the chance to treat our palates to a wonderful cuisine.
