Alo is an intimate contemporary French restaurant located atop a heritage building in downtown Toronto. Our cuisine is internationally inspired and celebrates the finest in seasonal ingredients paired with a genuine sense of welcome, served as a blind tasting menu by Chef Patrick Kriss.

The Bar at Alo is adjacent to our main dining room and offer à la carte options as well as a shortened seasonal tasting menu.

Alo is outfitted with a private dining room which can welcome parties up to 14 guests.

Join us in our dining room for a new tasting menu that features the best ingredients we can source. Our menu is internationally inspired and prepared using classic French technique. We are currently unable to accommodate tasting menus for the following, either by substitution or omission of individual dishes or ingredients: allergies or aversions to dairy, eggs, seafood, soy, alliums, as well as vegan and vegetarian diets. Advance notice of all other dietary restrictions is strongly recommended to ensure that they can be accommodated. The tasting menu is currently offered at $225 per guest and does not include beverages, service charge and tax. Cancellations made less than 72 hours in advance will be charged the full price of the tasting menu per guest.

Our Kitchen Counter features bar-style seating and faces our open kitchen for an engaging dining experience. The Kitchen Counter offers a blind multi-course tasting menu, including luxurious menu items and special courses from our Chefs. Private Dining Room - Tasting Menu

Alo's private dining room, equipped with its own bar and kitchen, offers a six-course tasting-menu for up to 14 guests. This unique dining experience begins with a cocktail reception featuring a glass of sparkling wine and a trio of canapés. The pricing for this experience is $295 per guest exclusive of beverages, HST & 20% service charge. Wine pairings are available for an additional $125 per guest. Our private dining room is also available to be booked for lunches. An amazing dining experience! Service and food was top notch! The wine pairings without a doubt is the way to go. The sommelier Chris Sealy took us on a wonderful journey into the world of wine. A memorable experience!

Phenomenal. If you’re on the fence between dining room and kitchen bar experience, pick the bar. The service did not miss a beat. Trust Christopher—you will not regret the wine pairing. Every bite + sip is a wow moment.

I was very disappointed with my overall experience at Alo. My expectations were very high, which didn't help. Nonetheless I found it to be overhyped and not worth the money. First I wanted to reserve a table for 4, but one of us had allergies, which they wouldn't accomodate, which I found special for a Michelin Star restaurant. But oh well.. we still made reservation but for only 2 because we really wanted to try. The decor is clean but nothing remarkable, seemed like any other chic restaurant. Overall ambiance was too 'strict' is the way I would describe. The food... was very good. But the wine pairing brought it down a notch. Unremarkable wines for every service, at 135$ per person made it feel like a ripoff. All the wines were described like light, to make the food shine. It meant no character wines, that for half the courses tasted nothing, and the other half made the food taste worse. If the price was lower I'd be probably less critical, but the overall value for the money isn't there, and I have been and will go again in restaurants at this price range, just not this one. Ever. Would not recommend, spend your money elsewhere, the food scene in Toronto is vast.

Food and service are great, but the main courses flavor are too strong, everything tastes like butter most of the time. but the beginning food are great.

My dear friend and I decided to celebrate our birthdays at Alo. It was a fantastic experience. We were seated at the counter and I initially found it to be a little bit overstimulating and thought we would regret my seating selection. But Marcus our server and the rest of the staff were so fantastic that it became super fun and we soon came to really enjoy everything about it. The food was delicious, the service was superb and the experience was everything we hoped for. Thank you to all the kitchen and service staff for making our celebration an unforgettable one.
