The food, experience was wonderful. The taste of everything was outstanding. We had the chicken dinner and tomahawk pork chop. Absolutely wonderful!! We loved the little extras they brought to the table! Highly recommend! Keep the chef there! None like it!

Got there at 5 PM when they opened. The staff was extremely friendly. The food could not have been better and the view is second to none in Pittsburgh. Whether you’re a first time Pittsburger or grizzled Yinzer, this is a must do….highly recommended

As always the food was spectacular. This is the first time the service was not as good as the food. The waitress seemed annoyed by everything. She was not very pleasant at all. We had an 8:45 reservation for 5 people on Saturday 01/18 and we arrived at 8:30 so the hostess directed us to the bar to have a drink and wait for our table. I think we were finally seated at 9:15 which was fine but it seemed our server was not very happy about it. My wife and I were there a week prior and the service was impeccable by a little blond waitress (can’t remember her name)and every other time we have been there it was outstanding service. The most disheartning part is I brought the new executive chef of Nevillewood Country Club who had never been to Altius and I had been bragging about how good the food and service is. I know everyone has bad days but when you spend the money you spend at Altius you expect the same consistent service every time.

Honestly for what you pay, the food isn’t amazing. It’s not bad, but you won’t walk away talking about it and recommending it to people. If you’re lucky enough to be at a window seat, sure, you’re paying for the view and the food is passable because you’re so taken with the view. But if you’re in a back table and then you get this food for the exorbitant prices, it doesn’t really feel worth it. You’re better off getting some amazing eats at places like Spork or other great food spots in the city.

Incredible as always. Luke recommended a gin I’ve never had before, which was fantastic. Ellen took great care of us the whole night—and made sure we had some extra popcorn to take home. BTW, the popcorn is always fantastic, but tonight was above and beyond. Sun dried tomato and Parmesan… The pace was perfect, the view is always a treat, and the food is top tier. Get the lamb shank. There is a reason why Altius is known as a top 3 restaurant in Pittsburgh, if not the absolute best. Worth every penny.

Outstanding food and service. Some folks in my party tried the chef’s specials (Branzino, Ribeye) and they did not disappoint. The view out the window was spectacular. I would definitely recommend.

Hosted out of town guests who thoroughly enjoyed the view, service and food. Quiet enough for business discussions. Well trained staff who do not hover but are available to handle every need. One of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh.

My husband and I had dinner here for our 11th Anniversary and they took great care of us. The staff started by giving us a table with an absolutely beautiful view from the hills and other gestures that made our Anniversary special. The food was outstanding and the service was great!
