Please note we offer Free Parking!

The Standard, an American Bistro Style Restaurant and Bar, located in the American Hotel right at the heart of Downtown Freehold. Open everyday for lunch and dinner until 9:00 pm, and offering an a la carte brunch on Sundays.

The contemporary menu offers a tantalizing variety featuring steaks, seafood and bistro-style dishes. Enjoy our upscale menu with friends while sipping on one our specially crafted cocktails.

Happy Hour is offered at the bar 7 days a week from 3:00-6:00. Additionally, we are now offering half priced bottles of wine every Wednesday and Sunday.

Please note that all reservations are for Indoor Dining only. Outdoor dining is purely first come, first serve. However, if you have a reservation, and there is an outside table available at the time of your arrival, you will be welcomed to it.

Shrimp and grits was so flavorful, seasoned perfectly. Filet Mignon cooked as ordered, shrimp with crab was a standout. Calamari as a starter was a perfect portion size for two to share - very tender and the peppers had the right amount of zing!

                                                                                                                              The food was very good. Half price bottle wine on Wed was a plus. We got the Oysters on the half shell, which were delish. The prime rib was great, and the baked apple pie for 2 was noteworthy.

The service we received from Mo and other staff members is excellent. Ryan, the manager always checks in with the tables to make sure everything is good. The quality of food and the presentation are top notch. Great place for couples or families. Highly recommended The Standard. Lynda and Jon Madnick

                                                                                                                              Service and food was terrific! Moe was delightful and on task! Guitar player was too too loud which made it very difficult to have conversation with the one other couple we were sitting with. We were nearly screaming with them to have conversation! He was screaming into his mic and it was awful!!! Never again! Had to pay for parking too!! Crazy!!!

                                                                                                                              My husband and I went with his sister and her 2 children last night for Burger Monday. The Burgers are huge, 10 ounces, and so delicious. We have been going on Mondays for a few weeks. Everything we have tried here has been great!

                                                                                                                              Food was good but could be better, filet kebab special was undercooked, but they cooked it more upon request. The orchiaetta pasta dish, had maybe 3 small pieces of sausage, and it was very, very salty, kind of dissatisfied with this dish. Shrimp and grits were good.

Wonderful dining experience, however live music on Sat night was a little loud.
