   Revisited our favorite Italian Restaurant in Memphis. The food was amazing as always. My husband got the prime rib. I was curious how that would be at an Italian Restaurant. He surprised me and gave it a 9.75 out of 10! He said it was cooked to perfection. We had the crab cakes again this visit as it is our favorite appetizer we have ever had anywhere. Savory with a slightly tart white bean salsa. The flavors are complex but meld together perfectly. I had the spaghetti. It’s simple which I love and the best sauce I have had anywhere in the States. Great quality ingredients perfectly seasoned. My husband added the spring salad and I added the Caesar. Also very good. Lastly, the server was extremely professional anticipating our every need. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough. Best kept secret in Memphis.

   Our server Harrison was outstanding. We ordered bruschetta for our appetizers and it was an interesting variation. They toasted the bread and had fresh cherry tomatoes on top of the mozzarella cheese and toasted the top. We ordered Caesar salad which was good, veal piccata and veal Parmesan that was delicious. The serving are very generous and we had leftovers to take home. The price of the food is reasonable and was a great dinner and evening.

   Very nice atmosphere in a white table restaurant with a good menu. It is our favorite local restaurant. This visit was a bit disappointing though. Our Friday special, fish and chips (catfish and fries), was evidently cooked too far ahead of time and arrived a little dry and just barely warm. It was almost like a leftover dish that had been rewarmed. Normally, this is a great dish, and they often run out of it on Fridays. I will something else next time though.

   Excellent service and great food all the way around!! Salmon and Sea Bass both excellent. Price is right! Couldn’t complain about a thing!! Will be back soon!!

   Service was very poor . Waited for tea refill for over 25 minutes . Waiter wasn’t around after we ordered and finally checked on us and then forgot that I asked for a tea refill . Reminded him once again and finally got a tea refill . Poor service to say the least . I’m glad we didn’t need anything else bc we prob wouldn’t have gotten it . Food wasn’t very tasty either which usually isn’t the case. Overall not a great experience. We definitely won’t be going back anytime soon .

   Amerigo never disappoints!! The warm greeting by the two best hostesses, always makes you feel welcomed ! The cuisine is consistently fabulous!

    My wife and I were trying to have an affordable but nice anniversary dinner, and we heard good things about this place (including gluten free options for my wife) and picked it over another Italian place in town that we love. Well, our server was very nice and attentive, and the place is nice and warm overall, however, the food is average to bad. we started with artichoke cheese dip that was very average, slightly bland, my wife didn't eat more than a couple bites to save the calories. Then my wife had the gluten free pasta pomodoro which was soooooo bland and even with salt and pepper was still underwhelming. Her side Caesar salad was simple but very good. I had the chicken piccata which I usually love, but Amerigo's does a version that has a thicker sauce that isn't very lemony and the breading fell off the chicken almost immediately. I ate about half because it was okay and stopped. I got a side chicken and sausage gumbo at the server's recommendation and it was oddly tomato tasting and thick without hardly any sausage or chicken. I considered sending it back but didn't want to be that guy. So, we were pretty down, but there was a clear silver lining. We got the gluten free blondie dessert (also at the server's recommendation) and it was VERY GOOD. didn't make up for the rest but ended the meal very well. If we do ever come back we will get no appetizer, Caesar salads, different entrees and focus on the dessert. I rarely write negative reviews, and I hope this one comes across as having both positives and negatives, but I would have appreciated an honest review before we decided to come for a meal that ended up being too much money for something that we would not do again. We spent $100 with no alcohol for basically a good Caesar salad and great dessert.
