Located in the heart of downtown South San Francisco owner John Akkaya and Executive Chef, Angelo bring together a taste of Italy with a Mediterranean twist. Akkaya has been in the restaurant world for over 30 years with two additional Bay Area restaurants, Cafe Figaro in Burlingame and Don Giovanni in Mountain View.                                                                         The food was delicious as usual. But it was freezing cold inside, and everybody had their coats on, and one person was even wearing a ski hat. The people that came as our guest kept talking about how cold it was. I know it cost a lot to heat up a place with high ceilings, but it was freezing. We love our waitress. She’s so sweet.

                                                                        We had a reservation but had to stand for 20 minutes before being seated. There was only one server in the entire dining area. She was professional and worked very hard but it made for long waits and no check-ins to see if you need anything. The food was good and plentiful on the plate but nothing extraordinary. If you are looking for a nice place to go for Italian-American cuisine, this is a good place if you are not in a hurry.

                                                                        Enjoyed the 3 course lunch special. Seafood was fresh although a little under seasoned. The calamari was fresh could use a bit more salt. The restaurant is high vault ceiling and the seatings are very comfortable.

                                                                        Beautiful place to have a special celebration, but the food just doesn’t live up to the hype. There is nothing on the menu that is Italian. Andiamo In Banca is not ready for prime time.
