Perched at the top of South Place Hotel, the Michelin-starred Angler restaurant showcases sustainable seafood from British waters, paired with the best seasonal and local produce. Overseen by Executive Chef, Gary Foulkes, the menu features picture perfect dishes and accomplished pairings.

Our Restaurant Manager and Head Sommelier bring their rare expertise to the team, making Angler a complete gourmet experience. In addition to the main dining room, Angler has a roof terrace, intimate bar and semi-private dining area known as ‘the Chef’s View.’

We can accommodate most dietary requirements, unfortunately we are not able to cater to guest with allergies to fish, shellfish and crustaceans’

This was sadly a disappointing meal. The fish based menu was good without any dishes that stood out. Steamed turbot on ink noodles was difficult to eat without dismantling the dish. Sauces and dashi were under flavoured. Scallop dish lacked texture and the raw mushroom slices didn’t add any taste. Starters and desserts were good - but we came for the fish. Excellent if pricy wine list and friendly sommelier. Service from the rest of the team including front of house was poor - had to search for someone to pay and to retrieve coats at the end. All in all felt like the restaurant rests on the captive clientele of its hotel guests. Not recommended.

Food was exceptional - every course was brilliant with an excellent lobster ravioli in a well judged lightly spicy broth. Main course of cod with ceariac purée was exemplary. The carrot cake pre dessert was an innovative trifle style dessert and was fantastic. The somellier was great - wines by the glass and from the Coravin were top notch. A beautiful relaxed meal.

Exquisite service, morsels of food which were surprisingly filling and perfect attention to detail and flavours. Highly recommended.

The scallop, tuna tartare, codfish and turbot were excellent. Service was attentive and yet give your space for privacy. My wife and I enjoyed the food and service for dinner at Angler.

I dined here solo. I hadn't been for year and I was really looking forward to visiting again. I certainly wasn't disappointed. Exquisite flavours from beginning to end. Thank you so much. Can't wait to return.

We went there for a birthday. It is customary to bring something saying happy birthday when we order desserts. Even though they asked whose birthday it was when we were seated, no one brought anything.

Enjoyed a delightful evening at Anglers to celebrate a friend. The staff were warm and accommodating, the restaurant is very nice and the food is stunning (we had the 5 course menu). I’d highly recommend it.
